High-end virtual reality (with room-scale motion tracked controllers) is a fairly new medium in which most (all) creators are still trying to figure out the best ways to interact. And since none of us really knows what we're doing, it's a great time to explore both the common and the weird, and experiment with what works and what doesn't.
This workshop will focus on a few typical interaction methods in VR, and a few not-so-typical ones. The attendees will have the opportunity to work with Horatiu and design + implement + tweak some interesting locomotion, physics manipulation, and creation tools in VR. Furthermore, you might learn some cool workflow tricks for Unity, such as how to tweak stuff with animation curves, etc.
Anyone who wants to participate actively is invited to bring their laptop. We will be able to jam on unexpected stuff, so your creativity is welcome and encouraged. Worst thing that can happen is you might look stupid while trying something awesome in VR.
Intended audience: Anyone who is interested in VR prototyping and design.
Tools participants should bring: Laptop computer with Unity 5.5, your art and stuff (if applicable).
Horatiu Roman is a Romanian game developer from Denmark, working at VRUnicorns where he prototypes a lot of crazy stuff whenever he has the chance (which is all the time, especially when he has other stuff to do).
