Learn how to use the Arduino microcontroller to turn anything into a keyboard, build your own custom game controller, using the same techniques we use at the UK's National Videogame Arcade.

Bring an object to turn into a controller. A cardboard box, a shoe, a plastic toy? Anything with some space inside and that you can make holes in! This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. You'll learn how to make holes for buttons, solder the buttons in, and program an Arduino to make it press keyboard keys!

Note: a 15 EUR fee will be required to cover material costs – you will get to keep the controller you built at the end of the workshop.

Intended audience: Anybody

Requirements: No previous experience required.

Tools participants should bring: Laptop computer with the Arduino IDE installed (https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software) and this arduino library downloaded: http://playground.arduino.cc/Code/Bounce. Participants can share a computer.
